Relating to Knapps Relational Model
KNAPPS RELATIONAL MODEL is a very interesting theory that I had never heard about until this week. This model, shown below, is a diagram that shows an interpersonal relationship between two people and how it can develop. Knapp describes it as not always an exact model, some relationships stop in a certain spot and are steady, others move back and forth, and some never go past initiating. This model is said to be "coming together vs coming apart" model referencing relationships and how the grow/develop. An example of an interpersonal relationship in my life that fits this model is a relationship I have with my identical twin sister. This relationship is a relationship that a lot of people will never fully understand, because no matter what, my twin sister and I will almost always be in the bonding stage of the relational model.
